Melissa grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. Leaning towards anything creative early on in her life, she also developed a deep interest for music. So, at the ripe age of 18, the Swiss-Ethiopian artist decided to move to Paris to pursue her passion: music. Her singing skills improved quickly, as Melissa had the opportunity to be a chorister for Phill Collins for 3 years (from 17 to 20 years old). She then split her time between New York City and Paris, creating music, and at 25, she released her first EP called “Nomad” (November 2019) the singer’s first fingerprint in the music scene. Mélissa’s music comes from a mix of different genres: soul, with a touch of smooth and precise tones, a music with nuance and layers. She gets inspired by the energy and excitement of Paris, a city that moves and is known for its fashion scene. While in New York, Melissa developed an interest in fashion, and with a keen eye, decided to explore it. She came back to Paris and decided to work as a model alongside her music career. Still interested in anything creative, Melissa writes and dances, explores her fashion sense and shares it to her audience, showing her growth along the way.
